From the Gold Coast to Cornwall's rugged shores, Amenouvô became John Cockle, and also Uncle Jack as he was known by his beloved Salvation Army—each name marking a chapter of belonging, of bridges built between worlds. The Cornish people embraced him not as a stranger, but as family. Uncle Jack became a beloved healer, a treasured member of their community whose wisdom touched countless lives.

Helen Equagoo Cockle's name itself is poetry—"Equagoo" echoing West African nobility, "Cockle" honoring the extraordinary voyage that transformed her ancestor, a chief's son, from Amenouvô into John Cockle, who became treasured throughout Cornwall.
